There are many opportunities for the Junior Golfer to play tournaments and tours whether nationally ranked or just starting out.

US Kids Golf is an international program and an ideal starting point for the more serious junior golfer. Local tours are played in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Invitational State and Regional tournaments are 2 day tournaments.
During the year players aim for Priority Status and hope to qualify for the World Championship played in Pinehurst, NC. A Teen World Championship for kids 13-18 is also played there. The European Championship in Scotland is also held annually in May.
AMERICAN JUNIOR GOLF ASSOCIATION (www.ajga.org)
The “gold” standard for super competitive juniors, age 12 to 18, is the AJGA. This Association conducts national junior golf tournaments at the highest level.
CALLAWAY JUNIOR WORLD GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP (www.juniorworldgolf.com)
Another big world championship is the Callaway Junior World Golf Championship. This is held in San Diego each year and the player will need to qualify to enter.
OPTIMIST INTERNATIONAL (www.optimist.org)
The Optimist International Junior Golf Championship is held at the PGA National Resort and Spa each Summer for juniors age 10 to 18. This is a prestigious event with more than 5000 junior golfers competing in qualifying tournaments around the world in the hope of playing here.
FUTURE MASTERS (www.futuremastersgolf.com)
The Press Thornton Future Masters Golf tournament is one of the most traditionally rich junior tournaments in the world. It is played annually in the Summer at Dothan Country Club in Alabama. Entry is by application which is open from early January through end April each year.
HURRICANE JUNIOR GOLF TOUR (www.hjgt.org)
Junior golfers age 11 to 18 are eligible to participate on the Hurricane Tour. Most of the tournaments are held in the South East,although OH, IL, PA, KY and NJ are on the Hurricane map too.
IMG JUNIOR GOLF TOUR (www.imgjuniorgolftour.com)
This tour provides an elite setting for junior golfers age 11 to 18 to compete and gain exposure to College golf. The IMGA Junior World Match Play is open to juniors age 11 to 17, and is a qualification and by invitation only event.

The Doral-Publix Junior Golf Classic is a premiere tournament for junior golf. Over 690 junior golfers from around the world representing over 45 countries participate in this tournament every year. Contestants not only have to be great golfers but they must demonstrate academic excellence in the classroom.

Tournaments are held during the Fall, Winter and Spring for juniors age 9 to 19.
FUTURE CHAMPIONS GOLF TOUR (www.futurechampionsgolf.com)
This Tour is located in the Western USA with tournaments played primarily in San Diego for juniors age 9 through 18.
SOUTH EASTERN JUNIOR GOLF TOUR (www.sjgt.com)
This golf tour was founded on the principle of giving junior golfers a chance to play competitive golf while building a resume for collegiate golf. Events are held in AL, FL, GA, SC, LA, MS and TN.
Tournaments are open for SJGT members age 12-19.
DRIVE, CHIP AND PUTT CHAMPIONSHIP (www.drivechipandputt.com)
This is a joint initiative by the Masters Tournament, the United States Golf Association and the PGA of America. It is a free nationwide junior competition focusing on the three fundamental skills employed in golf, tapping the creative and competitive spirit of girls and boys, ages 7-15. Local, sub-regional and regional qualifiers are played all over the country. The Finals are played the Sunday prior to the Masters Tournament in Augusta and are broadcast on the Golf Channel.
